British-American Business Connections Hosts Exclusive Luncheon with London Mayor's International
The region's technology sector, business climate and opportunities were focus of transatlantic expansion discussion.
SEATTLE (Nov. 8, 2017) - The Pacific Northwest Chapter of British-American Business Connections (BABC) was pleased to host an exclusive luncheon on November 7 at the Seattle Chamber of Commerce offices, facilitating connections and discussions on the Pacific Northwest's robust technology sector and business climate.
Business leaders from the greater Puget Sound and greater London areas met to connect and discuss transatlantic expansion and growth opportunities. Regional executives, representing small and mid-size to global business, met with some of the fastest growing, innovative companies that are based in London, during a five day trade mission to Seattle and Vancouver, hosted by BABC partner, London & Partners, the Mayor of London's official promotional agency. Participating Pacific Northwest companies included Microsoft, BAE Systems, IBM, Sticks Company, 8ninths, Vettd, C.KAY International and the Washington Technology Industry Association. London based tech companies included Takumi, Run An Empire, Thrive Partners, The Flash Pack, Screendragon, Emoquo, Sideways 6, Casual Films, Play Consulting/Totem, and Billion Dollar Boy.
The collaborative discussion included insights into the benefits, challenges and best practices of U.S. expansion; Washington and the Pacific Northwest as a technology hub, global gateway location and excellence in access to talent; the work environment of the region; key connections to established and growing technology companies; and an overview of the extended business networks across the area.
Before departing for Vancouver on November 8, the London delegation closed their regional visit with a pitch and networking reception at the offices of SURF Incubator in downtown Seattle.
