UK Government Publishes Data Showing UK Trade with Individual Countries Since 1999
The House of Commons Library has released a briefing paper illustrating the geographical patterns of trade for the UK between 1999 - 2018.
The data shows that the EU remains the UK's largest trading partner, accounting for 45% of the UK's exports of goods and services, and 53% of the UK's imports - however this has fallen from its 1999 level of 55%.
The United States is the UK's largest individual trading partner. The UK exported £121bn of goods and services to the US in 2018 (19% of all exports) - double the value of exports to Germany, the UK's second-largest single country export market (£56bn annually)
