New figures released by the Office for National Statistics (ONS) show that between April 2018-19, growing demand for UK goods and services drove exports to record heights of £645.8 billion.
Goods exports alone to the US were worth £57.6 billion, over £20 billion more than Germany, the second largest single UK export market for goods.
The US also accounted for over a third of the total increase in value of British goods exports (38.4%)
